Better is the least-closing path in an already damaged world.
The book asks what actions do to the continuable future of things that are actually here. Across care, tragic choice, punishment, institutions, addiction, parenting, whistleblowing, civilizational drift, and pre-life harm, it follows closure, resistance, repair, and the paths that remain after damage.
It also includes plain-English concept sheets, a glossary, modal appendices, and Chirality, the abstract combat strategy game in which terrain determines what a piece can do and movement changes the future action-set.
The book is the foundation. The site kept moving.
The original edition remains available in full. Later work sharpened locushood, reachability, the distinction between specification and contraction, instrument jurisdiction, and the constitutional problem of keeping correction materially reachable around powerful institutions.
